I think a lot of people stop liking math when they're young because, you know, they get really stuck and they feel like, I must not be good at this thing because I get stuck and I get so frustrated with it. But one thing that I realized, I think this really got cemented for me when I went to grad school for math and I met some of the absolute best up and coming mathematicians in the world, was that the smartest math people actually spend just as much time stuck as everyone else. And sometimes I think they spend more time stuck, but it's like their level of comfort with being stuck and how productive they're able to make that time that makes the difference between whether someone really enjoys doing math and pushing through that or whether they get frustrated and stop.
