What does it mean to be in a community? - Jillian Richardson: Founder of Joy List

Friendships tend to last longer than romantic partnerships, and we need these multiple types of ties in order to have a strong social support network. But for some reason, it's only okay if you have a serious partner and. Or children, and that's the excuse. So I say, like, super simple ways that companies can encourage their employees to have these strong social ties is just like giving people extended lunch breaks a few times a month. Like, hey, go spend time with a friend, not. Not for work reasons, just to catch up with this friend.

It seems like that would also be good for the company too, because a lot of times, if you're not. A lot of times the most business is done at the edges of a community, so it's not the close connections that are done. So if a business has employees that are going to meet and strengthen the other, the business will find value from that as well, because they're extending the network of that company.
