About this episode

Libertarianism’s Global Moment: Yaron Brook reflects on the significance of Javier Milei’s rise to power in Argentina, noting that Milei is the first self-identified libertarian elected to a major political position. This moment represents a test of libertarian principles in governance, but it also highlights the challenges libertarians face when trying to implement free-market policies in a culture that hasn’t fully embraced the underlying philosophical foundation of liberty.

Welcome to the Crazy Wisdom Podcast. My guest today is Yaron Brook. He is a writer and chairman of the board at the Ayn Rand Institute and he's also got his own show on YouTube, the Yaron Brook show on YouTube. So welcome to the show.
So we met in Buenos Aires a few months ago at an Ayn Rand conference there and it was a very interesting conference that, which Malay spoke at. And I'm so interested to talk more about objectivism, about libertarianism and the future because it does feel like this is the first elected libertarian government in our history. Is that accurate? Is that an accurate representation?
I think so. I, I think that's right. It's the first self identified libertarian who's been elected at least at a major political level anywhere in the world.
