Episode transcript
I kind of have a philosophy is that if I'm not going to have fun in life, why do it? You know, I don't want to look back on my life when I'm, you know, 65, 70, 80 years old going, wow, I had a great time being totally stressed out. I mean, I just read the article about Elon Musk and he's just like, he's crying and like he is under so much crazy stress and he's like the, I mean, one of the most brilliant entrepreneurs up there with Steve Jobs and everybody else. But I just don't subscribe to that. I just don't think you have to do that.
Hi, my name is Stuart Alsop, and this is my podcast, Crazy Wisdom. What I'm looking for on this podcast is access to crazy craft wisdom, what only people who are creating on a daily basis have access to. A lot of times these people don't really have the time to write about what they know, all their insights. So I dig into people's worldviews about what is the connection between stress and creativity? What role does stress play in the creative process? And what role does creativity play in our ability to manage stress or, or integrate it? Today I interviewed my uncle, Andy Allsop, who is the CEO and co founder of the iPad receptionist app. Andy has a lot of valuable wisdom to share about stress and creativity. He's been starting companies for the last 20 years, basically, and in those 20 years, he hasn't really had a major hit until now. Now everything's flowing. And the beauty of what he shares is basically all those stressful moments, all those stressful challenges and unnecessary stress that he created in his previous startups all led him to this realization that he could create a startup without stress, without a huge amount of overwhelming stress. So I really suggest that you listen to this entire podcast. He has a lot of valuable wisdom to share about starting a company, about what not to do, which is what a lot of people can't really share with people. Give it a listen. If you like it, please find us on itunes at Crazy Wisdom and subscribe. And if you really like it, please leave a review. Thanks. Have a great day.
